Description

From the talks of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson.

Offers insightful and multidimensional interpretations of current Torah readings, festivals and special events of the Jewish calendar.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe is famed for his Farbrengens (gatherings), where he would pour out the wellsprings of Chassidus to large audiences for hour after hour. His Sichos (talks) combine the revealed and hidden Torah, a seamless blend of law and parable, philosophy and mysticism, ethical thought and Chassidic insight, all tending to definite conclusions in action and attitude, a clear path in human life and in the service of G-d.

The two volumes of Likkutei Sichot cover all five Chumashim and Jewish holidays, with Vol. I including Bereishis, Shmos and Vayikra, while Vol. II covers Bamidbar and Devarim.

Format: 6×9 Hardcover, 2 Volumes, 834 pp.
Language: Russian

About the appended talks and letters:

As was customary with the original volumes of Likkutei Sichos in Yiddish and Hebrew, various letters and talks of the Rebbe have been appended to this Russian-language Likkutei Sichos.

The letters appended to the new Russian-language Likkutei Sichos had been translated from their original Yiddish or Hebrew to Russian decades ago, at the time they were initially issued, and had also been submitted to the Rebbe for editing prior to publication.

Among those various public letters are 13 letters addressed to the participants of the Lubavitch Women’s Convention, a.k.a. “the N’shei Convention.” Starting in 1956, that annual Convention was also honored each year by an instructive and inspirational letter sent by the Rebbe in Yiddish (and English). Beginning in 1981, those letters were also translated to Russian and submitted to the Rebbe for review prior to publication; the Rebbe provided edits—in Russian—for several of those letters before their final release to the public.

The appended talks were originally spoken by the Rebbe himself in Russian upon visiting Passover Sedarim for Russian Jews at F.R.E.E.’s headquarters, from 1975 to 1981.  And three talks the Rebbe delivered in the Russian language at Lubavitch World Headquarters, in 1980. Most of these talks were also edited by the Rebbe shortly after delivery.

These talks and letters appear now for their first time in book form.
